Overview
Route1 is an innovator in mobile thin-clients
that simplify remote access thus enabling organizations to
securely extend their computing resources to anyone, anywhere
at anytime. The Company's Mobi Solution consists of devices
and software integrated with a managed service that ensures
all applications and data remain secure behind the firewall.
Route1 bridges the gap between business agility and data
security while allowing organizations to meet their mobile
office, regulatory compliance, business growth and continuity
needs.
Investment Highlights
- The Mobi Solution comprises hardware, software and a
managed service that allows users to remotely operate
their office PCs over cellular data,WiFi, and LAN
connections.
- Route1's network partners include Microsoft, IBM,
Cisco Systems, Oracle, and many more.
- The ARC Group estimates that wireless data access
revenues will grow to $130 billion USD worldwide by 2009,
with $34 billion of that from laptop users on 2.5G and 3G
networks. The market researcher also predicts that the
global number of hotspots will triple to 134,700 in 2006.
- According to reports there will be over 162 million
mobile and remote workers in the next few years. This

Surveys of CIOs suggest the number of remote access
enterprise users will grow steadily in the next few years,
representing a significant opportunity for solution
providers.
- Route1 announced it's joining the ClearCube Solution
Network, the technology partnership program of ClearCube
Technology. ClearCube, based in Austin, TX, is a market
leader and pioneer in PC blade computing. By executing
this agreement, Route1 and ClearCube are establishing an
integrated marketing plan for their combined technologies,
including Route1's new Mobi Solution, a platform that
enables instant secure, remote computing using ClearCube
I/Port user ports, PC blades, and management software.
Product Description
The Mobi Solution comprises
hardware, software and a managed service that allows users to
remotely operate their office PCs over cellular data,WiFi, and
LAN connections. All applications and data reside behind the
corporate firewall. Route1’s technology keeps users
persistently connected, safely switching between networks
while managing sessions even in the middle of document edits.
Route1’s Mobi Solution is a
smart alternative to existing mobile offerings. Instead of
being primarily an email-centric device with limited
capabilities to download or effectively use attachments, or a
handheld that manages one’s calendar and contacts the Mobi
Solution does it all and much more in a wireless or wired
environment at broadband speeds, where available.
The Mobi Solution is a seamless Microsoft
Windows OS-to-OS environment with which users are instantly
familiar. Unlike other mobile solutions, the Mobi Solution
eliminates time-consuming data synchronization and storage
duplication which might be compromised. Moreover,
organizations don’t have to change firewall settings or their
connectivity and security policies. The Mobi Solution
integrates RSA BSAFE encryption and the RSA Keon digital
certificate management solution to deliver the strongest
end-to-end security possible.

Market
Secure mobile integration
represents the next big opportunity in personal and enterprise
wireless computing. By 2005, most mobile devices will have
wireless access to the Internet and connection to remote
systems, becoming extensions of larger computing and
information environments. The ARC Group estimates that
wireless data access revenues will grow to $130 billion USD
worldwide by 2009, with $34 billion of that from laptop users
on 2.5G and 3G networks. The market researcher also predicts
that the global number of hotspots will triple to 134,700 in
2006.
According to reports there
will be over 162 million mobile and remote workers in the next
few years. This number will be much larger if one includes
employees, such as corridor warriors and work day extenders,
who do not spend time at their desktop, but need access to it.
Surveys of CIOs suggest the number of remote access enterprise
users will grow steadily in the next few years, representing a
significant opportunity for solution providers.
A key to success is the ability to scale
mobile integration quickly and securely without corresponding
increases in IT infrastructure and management costs. Route1's
solution relies on a peer networking approach for remote
operation of computing resources and content. Using an
advanced end-to-end Perfect Forward Secrecy design, Route1
delivers security, performance and total cost of ownership
unmatched by traditional wireless and remote computing
environments.
Route1's solution is ideal for large
enterprises, government, small businesses, and mobile
professionals. Many of these users are regularly on the hunt
to reduce IT and communication costs while driving to improve
organizational responsiveness with distributed workforces. An
increasing number of them are deploying remote access
solutions, that require specialized software, hardware, and
training to operate VPNs, and data synchronization to support
outworkers. Route1 believes the remote computing solution that
is network agnostic and easy to use, provides the highest
level of information security, and delivers the lowest total
cost of ownership, will ultimately “own” this market.
