Earlier this year, Frost & Sullivan released its global energy forecast. In the report, the research firm noted that the global installed capacity of renewable energy will more than double from 1,566 GW in 2012 to 3,203 GW in 2025 at an average annual growth rate of 5.7%. Frost & Sullivan notes in its report that the drop in the cost of renewable energy has led to their adoption in developing countries. The report adds that the global capacity of hydro power will increase from 1,085 GW in 2012 to 1,498 GW in 2025. The growth will be driven by China, Turkey, Brazil, Vietnam, India and Russia.

According to Harald Thaler, Director at Frost & Sullivan Energy & Environmental Industry, factors such as urbanization, population growth, energy security concerns, and strong economic development have led to regions such as Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa increasing their contribution to renewable energy capacity growth.

However, the developed world is not far behind. In fact, Frost & Sullivan will remain the leading region in the global bioenergy and waste segment. Not surprisingly, many developed world companies focused on renewable energy are bullish in their outlook.

This morning, one such renewable energy company made a major announcement. Alliance BioEnergy Plus Inc. (OTCQB:ALLM), a technology company focused on emerging technologies in the renewable energy, biofuels and new technologies sectors, announced the opening of Ek Laboratories Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of AMG Energy Group. AMG Energy is a subsidiary of ALLM.

The construction at the laboratory was completed at the end of April 2015. After that, ALLM began installing and optimizing its full service analytical laboratory equipment and building its patented CTS Pilot plant. These operations were completed earlier in the week.

Ek Laboratories will be a quality control center for the CTS process around the world. The CTS technology is able to produce sugars, various fine chemicals, plastics, carbon fibers and other valuable products from virtually any plant material, wood or paper-by product, fruit casings or bio-waste. It was developed by the University of Central Florida. Carbolosic owns the exclusive, worldwide license to the patented mechanical/chemical technology. ALLM has a 50% stake in Carbolosic.

Apart from being a quality control center, Ek Laboratories will also serve as a profit center. It will operate as an independent lab capable of a wide range of analysis for industrial materials, pharmaceuticals, fuels, gases, pesticides, pollutants, sugars, perfumes, lipids, fatty acids and a wide range of other materials and industries.
