Daylight Dimming/ Daylight
Harvesting Energy Saving Ballasts Shine for AXTG by Greg Moses - AllPennyStocks.com News Reporter
January 8, 2007 (AllPennyStocks.com Media Inc.) - Since the
beginning of time, all great inventions have been born of
simple concepts, and fundamental ideas based on solid science
and engineering.
Axis Technologies, Inc.
(OTC: AXTG.PK) has developed such a fundamental concept,
with its newly designed and patented fluorescent lighting
energy saving ballast. A ballast always being a voltage
regulator, now becomes an energy saving device, as well.
The Axis Ballast is truly the only daylight harvesting
system available, which can be marketed to replace standard
fluorescent lighting fixture ballasts. The patented Axis
Ballast can reduce lighting energy costs up to 70%.
The Axis Ballast was designed to be simple and effective
with easy installation and with no maintenance. It features
integrated controls which eliminates the need for any external
user intervention. The device is highly reliable and is
covered by a 5 year warranty.
When windows or skylights provide natural daylight to a
room, the Axis Ballast, located in the fluorescent fixture in
the ceiling, does its job. The device works automatically and
seamlessly, while continually monitoring to reduce energy
consumption.
The benefits accrue through adjusting the voltage in the
fixture, as the light fixture remains operating throughout the
day. The energy savings occur, while at the same time
maintaining appropriate lighting levels in the room. The
dimming and brightening occurs at subtle levels and therefore
doesn't distract occupants of a room.
The AXTG Ballast utilizes an individual photo sensor to
automatically adjust the amount of electric current flowing to
the lighting fixture, and then dims or increases lighting in
conjunction with the amount of available sunlight.
It is easy to see, that the potential market for daylight
dimming/ daylight harvesting energy saving ballasts used in
commercial and industrial lighting systems is huge. The
Company projects rapid sales growth with a compound annual
rate of 71%, representing $12.9 million in 2007 to $191
million in 2012.
Axis recently announced that it has entered into
negotiations with the TFM Group for exclusive distribution
rights for Dimming/ Daylight Harvesting ballasts throughout
the United Kingdom and Europe. Anticipated potential sales
from this deal could represent $20 million USD per year. Given
the high cost of electricity in Europe, it is anticipated that
the Axis product line will be well received.
The Axis business niche targets small to large commercial
users of fluorescent lighting, to include office buildings,
wholesale and retail buildings, hospitals, schools, and
government buildings. Each fluorescent lighting fixture,
placed in long rows in a typical office building, contain
ballasts as well as 2 to 4 lighting tubes. To date, Axis has
completed or has potential orders approaching 500,000 units.
ATI's proprietary ballast is designed specifically for
energy efficiency and not architectural dimming, which leans
more heavily towards aesthetics, than any real meaningful
reduction in both usage and costs.
With explosive demand both from building managers and
owners, as well as from architectural and design firms; AXTG
has recently added two new regional manufacturers' sales
representatives. Triple "C" Companies and Robert Reynolds, Jr.
Co. will assist Axis in keeping architects and engineers aware
and up to date on the latest trends in energy efficient
lighting products. In adding the Axis product lines, the two
firms will be able to offer AXTG products to their existing
base of commercial and industrial customers.
In addition, the True Value Company with over 5,800 retail
locations worldwide is beta testing the AXTG ballast in
certain West Coast locations. The Company is working with the
Axis installer, JAG Industrial Electrical Inc. in this Green
Initiative. True Value, as the energy savings are tracked, has
the potential to be a model for other large retail chains
seeking to conserve energy and reduce their own energy costs
at the same time.
Axis has now begun manufacturing 347 volt fluorescent
ballasts for the Canadian market under its previously
announced pact with Brite-Lite, Inc. Last November, AXTG
signed a national exclusive distribution agreement for Canada,
with the wholesale distributor, Brite-Lite, Inc., which is
based in the Vancouver area. Axis anticipates that this
business partnership with Brite-Lite will lead to well over $5
million in sales over the next year.
In another high visibility move, the renowned Green
Architectural firm of Sasaki Associates located in Watertown,
MA has installed several hundred Axis ballasts in their office
complex near Boston. Sasaki is pursuing certification for
their building under the Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design guidelines for Existing Buildings.
Axis is making gains on the Industrial front, as well.
American Apparel, the nations largest garment factory has
included the Axis Ballast system as part of its recent
lighting upgrade at its downtown Los Angeles facility. The
800,000 square foot area houses the entire operation from
sewing and cutting to photography and marketing. The factory
is a model and offers a significant amount of daylight for
their employees,
At the professional, technical, and governmental level;
Axis is making a strong move as
it joins with the California Lighting Technology Center. The
Center's mission is to
stimulate the growth of energy efficient lighting system
installations by facilitating coordination and cooperation
between electric companies, lighting manufacturers, lighting
professionals, and governmental agencies.
As being said, AXTG is moving forward on all key fronts
simultaneously, as it is quickly positioning itself as an
industry leader, in this all important energy conservation
field.
