Visa Adds Stablecoin Funding and Payouts to Visa Direct With zerohash

Visa Inc. (NYSE: $V) is adding stablecoin funding and payout capabilities to Visa Direct through a collaboration with onchain infrastructure provider zerohash.

Eligible clients will be able to prefund merchant accounts with stablecoins and send payouts directly in digital dollars, while zerohash supplies the technology, compliance and regulatory support. The integration is designed to keep liquidity moving beyond banking hours and give recipients faster access to funds across borders.

Visa Direct connects to more than 18 billion endpoints across over 195 countries and territories, spanning cards, bank accounts and digital wallets. Bringing stablecoins into that network places blockchain settlement inside a payment system already used by banks, fintechs, marketplaces and remittance providers rather than asking clients to build separate crypto infrastructure.

Mark Nelsen, Visa’s global head of product, said stablecoins are opening new ways to make money movement “faster and more flexible,” particularly for cross-border payments. He added that zerohash will help Visa deliver those capabilities at scale while remaining interoperable with financial systems clients already use.

The collaboration extends a stablecoin strategy that has expanded quickly across Visa’s product stack. The company launched the Visa Stablecoin Platform in July, giving institutions one environment for minting, holding, transferring and redeeming digital dollars, alongside wallet infrastructure and transaction controls.

Visa Direct now adds a distribution layer to that work. Businesses can use stablecoins to manage prefunding and liquidity, while recipients gain the option to receive payouts directly into digital wallets.

Zerohash brings regulated infrastructure to the arrangement. The company raised $104 million at a $1 billion valuation and has secured both MiCA authorization and Electronic Money Institution status in Europe, giving Visa a partner built around custody, settlement and compliance across multiple markets.

The integration moves Visa’s stablecoin push closer to its core money-movement network, where faster settlement and round-the-clock liquidity can be tested against real cross-border payment demand.

Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) is currently trading at $368.44 U.S. per share.
