Here's Why You Should Retain Accenture Stock in Your Portfolio Now

Accenture’s ACN growth outlook is driven by expanding AI demand, strategic acquisitions and strong financial flexibility. Healthy cash generation and low leverage support continued investment and shareholder returns.

ACN has a Growth Score of B. This style score condenses key financial metrics to reflect a fair sense of the quality and sustainability of its growth.

The company’s fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings are expected to increase 5.3% year over year. Its earnings for fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2027 are projected to rise 7.2% and 5.9%, year over year, respectively. Revenues are anticipated to increase 5.6% in fiscal 2026 and 4% in fiscal 2027.

ACN’s shares have gained 5% over the past three months.

Factors That Bode Well for ACN’s Success

AI-Led Reinvention Demand Drives Growth: Accenture is benefiting as enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) adoption moves into scaled production. Advanced AI bookings nearly doubled year over year in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, while the company added another 100 clients initiating AI projects in the third quarter. Growth with major ecosystem partners continues to outpace the company overall, supporting longer-term demand across data, cloud, cybersecurity and transformation services. Management also expects fiscal 2026 bookings from key emerging AI and data partners to more than double from fiscal 2025.

Strategic Acquisitions Expand Capabilities: Accenture continues to use acquisitions to expand capabilities in AI, cybersecurity and other high-growth areas. By the third quarter of fiscal 2026, the company had invested about $3 billion, primarily across 13 acquisitions and expected roughly $9 billion in acquisition investment for the full year, subject to announced transactions closing. This stepped-up deployment should broaden Accenture’s capabilities and support longer-term growth opportunities.

Financial Strength Supports Growth & Returns: The company combines high returns, low leverage and strong cash generation. At the end of the third quarter of 2026, ACN’s return on equity and debt-to-equity stand at 26.47% and 0.15, respectively, indicating efficient use of shareholder capital without heavy reliance on debt. Free cash flow reached $3.6 billion in third-quarter fiscal 2026, with $10.8-$11.5 billion expected for the year, supporting growth investment and shareholder returns.

Cash Flow Flexibility: The company’s asset-light model supports efficient cash conversion and ample liquidity. During the third quarter of fiscal 2026, free cash flow reached $3.6 billion on $3.79 billion of operating cash flow, supported by a 1.34 current ratio at the end of the same period, while modest capital needs and manageable leverage preserve capacity for acquisitions, buybacks and dividends.

Watch Out for These Risks to ACN Stock

Macro & Deal-Timing Risks: Accenture’s discretionary spending remains exposed to geopolitical and economic uncertainty. In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, the Middle East conflict reduced expected revenues by about $100 million and affected roughly $400 million of sales, while slower decision-making weighed on Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The delaying of several large managed-services opportunities into fiscal 2027 highlights execution and timing risk in major transformation programs.

Elevated Buyouts Raise Execution Risk: Accelerated acquisition investment to expand into AI, cybersecurity and non-FTE businesses leaves Accenture exposed to execution risks. Expected fiscal 2026 investments increased from about $5 billion to approximately $9 billion sequentially in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. Management expects to access long-term debt markets to support acquisition spending and liquidity. The larger program increases execution risk as ACN integrates acquired capabilities and seeks to convert them into sustained growth.
