Junior Miner Reports Strongest Gold Intercept to Date, Shares Explode Higher By: Tomas Ronolski - AllPennyStocks.com News

With gold pushing into new all-time highs, we recently spotlighted a junior miner that had begun rebounding from a major downturn thanks to strong drill results. When we last highlighted the stock on September 4th at $0.235, an uptrend was just starting to form. Following today’s additional impressive drill results, that momentum has accelerated, with shares soaring more than 50% in today’s session alone.

Miata Metals Corp. (CSE: MMET) (OTCQB: MMETF) announced this morning that the company has released encouraging drill results from its Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname. The company reported that drill hole 25DDH-SEL-033 returned the strongest intercept on the project so far, with 35.6 metres grading 3.04 g/t gold from a depth of 69.0 metres. Within that interval were multiple high-grade sections, including 14.6 metres at 4.95 g/t gold and a higher-grade zone of 3.0 metres at 8.93 g/t gold. Meanwhile, drill hole 25DDH-SEL-032 confirmed stacked zones of mineralization, cutting 36.8 metres of 1.71 g/t gold from 92.7 metres, with a notable sub-section of 16.1 metres at 2.82 g/t gold.

These results reinforce the presence of broad and continuous gold-bearing zones at the Jons Trend, one of four prospects currently being advanced within the central mineralized corridor at Sela Creek. Drilling indicates that the mineralization is part of a shallow-plunging system extending for several hundred metres along strike, with potential for additional parallel lenses yet to be tested. Alongside earlier successes at the Puma and Golden Hand targets, these new findings highlight the potential for Sela Creek to emerge as a significant multi-zone gold project in Suriname.

“These intercepts are a breakthrough for Sela Creek, delivering wide and continuous zones of gold mineralization at our Jons Trend target, which hosts the largest artisanal pit at Sela Creek 3,” stated Dr. Jaap Verbaas, CEO of Miata Metals. “Hole 25DDH-SEL-033 returned 35.6 m of 3.04 g/t gold, the widest and best-mineralized intercept ever drilled at Sela Creek. With assays pending from six additional holes at Jons Trend, we are confident in this target’s ability to continue demonstrating its prospectivity. We are evaluating Jons Trend as a potential open-pit opportunity 2, and the presence of a second, lesser intercept in hole 25DDH-SEL-032 suggests the potential for additional parallel zones. Importantly, the mineralization is hosted within fold hinges in metasedimentary rock, a style of deposit that is well established at producing mines 2 in Suriname.”

Shares of MMET are currently up 55.74% at $0.475 while U.S. listed shares (MMETF) are rallying 46.54% at $0.33 in late-morning trading.
