Aerospace Contract Sparks 20% Rally in Shares of This Micro Cap Stock

On an otherwise risk-off trading day, a few bright spots emerged, including one micro-cap company that gained attention after securing a substantial order from a major global aerospace firm. Although the customer was not identified, investors welcomed the development, pushing the stock more than 20% higher.

PyroGenesis Inc. (TSX: PYR) (OTCQX: PYRGF) announced earlier today that they have secured a half-tonne order of titanium metal powder from a major global aerospace company, marking the first contract received since the client granted the company official supplier status following a lengthy certification process. The order was won through a competitive bidding process and according to the company, highlights the growing confidence in PyroGenesis’ NexGen™ plasma atomization technology, which is designed for ultra-high-temperature industrial applications.

The agreement covers the delivery of “coarse” Ti64 powder, with particle sizes ranging from 45 to 150 microns. Production is being completed using the company’s NexGen™ plasma atomization system, and the material will be shipped to the customer in the coming days for use in aerospace R&D initiatives. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed for competitive reasons.

Shares of PYR were up 21.62% at $0.225, while U.S. listed shares (PYRGF) were up 23.08% at $0.1619 in early-afternoon trading.
