Deep Utah Porphyry Intercept Triggers 57% Rally as Drilling Continues Past 550m

In porphyry exploration, intersecting over half a kilometre of continuous, visually intense mineralization is the exact trigger that turns a junior stock into a high-volume runner. Against a strong backdrop for metals, the sharp rally reflects pure discovery speculation, traders buying into visual core logging that confirms a deep, high-temperature intrusive center with mineralized stockwork and skarn before the first assay batch even hits the lab.

BCM Resources Corporation (TSX-Venture: B) jumped Thursday after reporting that diamond drill hole TK20, still in progress at its 100%-controlled Thompson Knolls project in Utah, has encountered over 550m of strongly mineralized porphyry and intercalated skarn.

TK20 is a vertical hole collared 208m northeast of discovery hole TK8. Mineralization starts at the top of bedrock at 588.4m and continues to the current depth of 1,238m, with drilling ongoing in mineralized rock. Roughly 70% of the mineralized core logged so far is intrusive (quartz monzonite porphyry and latite porphyry) with strong potassic alteration and intense stockwork quartz veining; the company frames that package as the high-temperature core of a large porphyry system, with many stockwork phases carrying molybdenite +/- chalcopyrite. The other ~30% is mineralized magnetic skarn intercalated with the porphyry, locally with chalcopyrite, pyrite, and molybdenite tied to magnetite.

Importantly, assays are not in yet. Logging, sawing, and sampling continue as TK20 advances, with samples to be submitted when the hole is finished. For reference, TK8 previously intercepted 155.4m of mineralized skarn grading 0.66% Cu, 0.12 g/t Au, and 7.4 g/t Ag (May 24, 2023 release). Management calls TK20 the most strongly mineralized hole drilled to date at Thompson Knolls and plans to push it deeper, then start TK21 about 250m west-southwest to twin 2022 hole TK5, which was terminated in mineralization on bad ground.

Next catalysts are TK20 completion and assays, then TK21 metres testing the west projection of the same system.

Shares of B rose 56.6% to C$0.30 following the news on the TSX Venture Exchange on strong volume of 1.8 million shares.
