Completion of 1,800m Maiden Program Sparks 14% Surge for BC Porphyry Developer

A junior explorer expanding a drill campaign based on visual core logging is one of the clearest signals of field success ahead of official assay flow. In British Columbia’s premier Highland Valley copper district, completing a first-pass program above planned meterage signals that field crews encountered enough alteration and visual copper mineralization in real time to justify drilling deeper than originally budgeted.

GSP Resource Corp. (TSX-Venture: GSPR) announced the completion of its expanded 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program across its wholly-owned Alwin Mine and Mer properties in southwestern British Columbia. The campaign totaled 1,801 across eight diamond drill holes, surpassing the original 1,200 to 1,500m target, with all four holes at the Mer target intersecting near-surface visible copper mineralization.

Crucially, the maiden program at Mer featured the deepest hole ever drilled on the property (292.7m), which was extended past its target depth after cutting continuous potassic alteration and trace sulphides. Concurrently, four follow-up holes at the Alwin target successfully intersected visual quartz-chlorite-sericite and chalcopyrite-pyrite mineralized zones, flanking high-grade 2024 discovery intercepts (5.04 g/t Au and 1.01% Cu over 7.90m). With all core logged and submitted to the lab, initial assay batches from Alwin are expected to hit the market in early Q3 2026.

GSPR rose 13.6% to $0.125 on the TSX Venture Exchange. Staged Q3 assays from the 1,801m program are the next catalyst.
