Scaling a specialized hospital consumable requires moving beyond single-department trials into broader facility-wide adoption. When infection-control vendors successfully expand across multiple care units and hospital networks, recurring high-margin product sales establish a predictable foundation for sustainable, debt-free cash flow.

Covalon Technologies Ltd. (TSX-Venture: COV) (OTCQX: CVALF) advanced after reporting fiscal 2026 third-quarter results for the period ended June 30, 2026.

Revenue rose 20% year-over-year to $10.0M, driven by a 51% surge in its US Vascular Access and Surgical Consumables channel. Gross margin expanded by 2,070 basis points to 67.2% (from 46.5% a year prior), while operating expenses remained virtually unchanged at $4.0M. Net income jumped to $2.8M ($0.10 diluted EPS) compared to $65,000 in Q3 2025, while Adjusted EBITDA more than tripled to $3.0M. Management noted that revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA each set five-year quarterly highs.

The primary growth driver was the company's Contamination Protection product line, which surged 68% year-over-year and 34% quarter-over-quarter as hospital clients expanded adoption from single-unit trials across entire facility networks. Covalon closed the quarter with $19.4M in cash (up $2.8M from Q2) and zero bank debt. For the first nine months of fiscal 2026, revenue reached $25.7M with net income of $4.0M.

Upcoming catalysts include continued hospital network expansion in the US vascular channel, Q4 fiscal 2026 financial releases, and potential international distribution agreements.

Shares of COV rose 24.5% to C$2.85 on the TSX Venture Exchange, while OTCQX shares of CVALF gained 25.7% to US$2.081.
