Nevada Gold Explorer Surges 21% on Broad High-Grade Drill Intercepts

Returning broad, high-grade gold intercepts across a multi-target campaign sparked a same-session re-rating in junior exploration today, demonstrating how deep district drilling can rapidly expand a project's resource footprint. 

Scorpio Gold Corp. (TSX-Venture: SGLD) (Nasdaq: SGLD) (OTCQB: SRCRF) advanced Wednesday after releasing Phase Two diamond drilling results from four holes at its flagship Manhattan District Project in Nye County, Nevada, before trading was halted by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) at 9:43 AM ET for pending news. However, at 2:11pm, at the company's request, another press release was issued, and announced that "trading halt imposed earlier today was done in error. The Company has requested that trading in its common shares and American Depositary Shares resume.

Standout results from the Goldwedge target included hole 26MN-115, which returned 3.02 g/t gold over 48.9m from 118.9m depth, including a high-grade sub-interval of 19.3 g/t gold over 5.2m. The hole also cut 5.14 g/t gold over 10.2m at the faulted contact between Paleozoic Zanzibar Formation sediments and Manhattan Caldera volcanics.

A second step-out hole, 26MN-118, intersected 1.19 g/t gold over 99.9m from 98.6m, including 5.13 g/t gold over 4.2m.  To date, Scorpio has completed 114 Phase Two diamond drill holes totaling 32,585m, with assay results now reported for 107 holes and seven holes currently pending. 

Next primary catalysts include the release of the remaining seven Phase Two assay batches, follow-up step-out drilling along the Reliance Fault and Zanzibar trends, and technical updates on broader Manhattan District continuity.  

 Before the halt, shares of (TSXV: SGLD), (Nasdaq: SGLD), and (OTCQB: SRCRF) are up 21.1% to C$0.43, 54.2% to US$0.37, and 129.5% to US11.66, respectively.
