BC Copper-Gold Explorer Surges 40% on Maiden Drill Visuals

Intersecting continuous, multi-hundred-metre intervals of hydrothermal alteration and disseminated sulphides sparked a same-session re-rating in copper-gold exploration today, demonstrating how maiden drill visuals can quickly establish target scale.

Prospect Ridge Resources Corp. (CSE: PRR) (OTCQB: PRRSF) advanced 40.0% Thursday after reporting visual logging results from the first two holes of its inaugural drill campaign at the 100%-owned Excalibur copper-gold project in northern British Columbia. The 28 km² road-accessible project sits in the Babine porphyry belt near the past-producing Bell and Granisle mines.

Hole EXC26-001 was drilled to 515m depth and intersected variably intense hydrothermal alteration and pyrite-dominant disseminated sulphide mineralization along its entire length, accompanied by minor chalcopyrite and molybdenite in felsic intrusive and volcanic host rocks. Step-out hole EXC26-002, collared 948m to the northeast, reached 464m and logged localized silicification near surface followed by patchy potassic alteration downhole. Both holes were sampled top-to-bottom and submitted for assaying. Casing was left in place to allow future deepening, and the drill rig was paused to review integrated results.

Next catalysts include laboratory assay results, technical integration for hole deepening, and follow-up drill planning across remaining magnetic and chargeability targets.

Shares of PRR / PRRSF rose 40.0% to C$0.07 and 27.8% US$0.046.
