Micro Cap Soars Following Preliminary Data Update

A Massachusetts-based biotech company stole the show on Wednesday after the company presented updated preliminary data from its Sirexatamab colorectal cancer study. According to a press release from earlier, the updated findings from its phase 2 trial indicate that sirexatamab combined with bevacizumab and chemotherapy improves progression-free survival and overall response rate in patients with advanced colorectal cancer.

Traders wasted no time buying up shares of Leap Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq:LPTX), pushing the micro cap up to $0.65/share (+67.53%) at the early session high. This move could be an indication of things to come as this stock has been fighting to breakout of its multi-week downtrend since dropping off earlier this year. 

Leap Therapeutics Inc is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapies designed to treat patients with cancer by inhibiting fundamental tumor-promoting pathways and by harnessing the immune system to attack cancer cells. Its clinical stage program is DKN-01, a monoclonal antibody that inhibits Dickkopf-related protein 1, or DKK1. DKK1 is a protein that regulates the Wnt signaling pathways and enables tumor cells to proliferate and spread, as well as suppresses the immune system from attacking the tumor. The company is studying DKN-01 in multiple ongoing clinical trials in patients with esophagogastric cancer, hepatobiliary cancer, gynecologic cancers, or prostate cancer. Its other clinical studies include P100, P102, P204,and P205.
