Copper is an integral ingredient in many of today’s technologies, including electric vehicles. So news that this mining company received clearance to restart its copper mines was well received by investors.

Trigon Metals Inc. (TSXV:TM) announces the renewal of its Environmental Clearance Certificate for mining activities on its Namibian Mining licenses, which was needed for Trigon to start copper mining operations at the Kombat Mine. This is a significant step toward production as open pit mining is planned to commence by the end of 2021.

The Kombat Mine is the flagship copper project of Trigon Metals Inc. and produced approximately 12.46 million tonnes of copper between 1962 and 2008, at a grade of 2.62%.

Shares of Trigon were trading up at $0.315 in mid-morning trade.
