Critical mineral supply has come into sharp focus recently, especially amid U.S.-China trade talks that highlighted concerns over ongoing access. Although the U.S. has regained access to some of China’s critical minerals, the search for alternative sources remains a top priority. Today, a junior mining company announced a strategic letter of intent aimed at eventually contributing to a more diversified supply of these essential materials, which are used in military systems, flame retardants, and other advanced technologies.

iMetal Resources Inc. (TSX-Venture: IMR) (OTCQB: IMRFF) has seen a recent resurgence in share price as the company has signed a non-binding letter of intent, dated July 15, 2025, to potentially acquire full ownership of a 0.97-square-kilometer mining concession in the Fojnica municipality of central Bosnia and Herzegovina. The concession includes the historic Cemernica Mine, which hosts an estimated 305,000 tonnes grading 4.05% antimony (Sb), 6% zinc (Zn), and 112 g/t silver (Ag), based on a 1999 geological study.

While iMetal believes this historical estimate is relevant and was conducted by qualified professionals, the data is not compliant with current reporting standards and should be considered comparable to an inferred resource. The company plans to undertake underground sampling and drilling to verify and potentially upgrade the resource. Investors are cautioned that the historical estimate has not been confirmed by a qualified person and should not be treated as a current resource.

iMetal Resources President & CEO, Saf Dhillon, "We are excited to have an opportunity to potentially acquire an international antimony project, specifically as Bosnia and Herzegovina enjoys both geological potential and growing market support for antimony exploration. Antimony is increasingly recognized as a critical mineral in the EU, U.S., and Canada due to its use in military systems, flame retardants, battery additives, and advanced technologies. A surge in demand and limited global supply outside China have amplified its strategic value."

Shares of IMR are currently up 23.53% at $0.21 while U.S. listed shares (IMRFF) are even on the day at $0.117 in late-morning trading.
