With global copper demand projected to surge from renewable energy, electric vehicles, and grid infrastructure, exploration and development companies in mining-rich regions are drawing investor attention. Securing long-term supply in stable jurisdictions has become a strategic focus as nations position for the next leg of the energy transition.

Shares of Trilogy Metals Inc. (TSX: TMQ) (NYSE American: TMQ) are pushing higher Wednesday after the company reported fiscal third-quarter 2025 results alongside progress at its Ambler Metals joint venture in Alaska. Toronto-listed shares are up 9.8% at $3.25 after touching a 52-week high of $3.43, while U.S.-listed shares set a one-year intraday high of $2.48 and currently trade at $2.37.

For the quarter ended August 31, Trilogy posted a net loss of $1.7 million compared to a $1.6 million loss in the same period of 2024, reflecting increased site activities at Ambler Metals. The joint venture, owned equally with South32, advanced environmental baseline programs and launched a core re-boxing initiative to safeguard drill samples.

On the balance sheet side, Trilogy ended the quarter with $23.4 million in cash and working capital, providing sufficient liquidity to cover its 2025 budget and regulatory initiatives, including its base shelf prospectus and at-the-market (ATM) program. While the ATM has not yet been used, it allows the company flexibility to raise up to $25 million if needed.

At the project level, Ambler Metals completed its summer maintenance program at the Bornite camp site on time and on budget, including environmental data collection to support future mine permitting. Fieldwork involved collaboration with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and Boreal Environmental Services, highlighting the project’s focus on responsible development.

Trilogy’s Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects sit within the Ambler Mining District, one of the richest copper-dominant belts in North America, hosting polymetallic deposits with copper, zinc, lead, gold, silver, and cobalt. The company remains focused on advancing the Arctic and Bornite deposits, with a long-term vision of building the district into a premier U.S. copper hub in partnership with local Alaska Native communities.

Shares of TMQ continue to attract momentum as investors weigh the company’s strategic position in a critical mineral district against the backdrop of surging copper demand.
