Gold Surge Continues: Shares Of This Junior Miner Jump on Follow-Up Drilling News

With gold’s upward momentum showing no signs of slowing, one junior miner has added fuel to the fire by announcing a follow-up drilling program at its gold property in Ontario, Canada.

Melkior Resources Inc. (TSX-Venture: MKR) (OTC: MKRIF) investors are having a great day as the miner’s stock price is surging on the announcement that the company plans for a follow-up drilling campaign at its Carscallen Gold Property, located approximately 25 kilometres west of Timmins, Ontario. The six-hole program, totaling roughly 1,725 meters, aims to expand the strike and depth potential of the 1010 Zone structural corridor while also testing new targets at the nearby Northwest Prospect.

In addition to follow-up drilling on the 1010 Zone, Melkior plans to conduct maiden exploration at the Northwest Prospect—an untested area located 500 meters north that exhibits similar geophysical and geochemical characteristics to known mineralized zones. The company also intends to further delineate the Zam Zam and Shenkman Zones, which together span more than 800 meters of strike length and have yielded several strong historical intercepts, including 23.5 g/t gold over 8 meters and 25.7 g/t gold over 6 meters.

MKR shares are currently trading up 31.58% at $0.25 while U.S. listed shares (MKRIF) are surging 45.38% at $0.1839 in mid-morning trading.
