With markets mostly moving higher today, one micro-cap is outpacing broader gains after releasing follow-up testing results for its graphite deposit. The results were impressive, prompting a strong buying response from investors.

This morning, Focus Graphite (TSX-Venture: FMS) (OTCQB: FCSMF) reported follow-on testing of its Lac Knife deposit material, achieving an ultra-high purity of 99.9996 wt.% (“5N+”) and an Equivalent Boron Concentration (EBC) of 2.03 ppm, placing it within nuclear-grade specifications. The tests, conducted using a chemical-free electrothermal purification process without halogen gases or acids, produced these results in just two hours. This environmentally friendly approach supports the company’s scale-up initiatives under Natural Resources Canada’s Global Partnerships Initiative, which awarded Focus a non-repayable contribution of up to $14.1 million to boost North American production of clean, advanced materials. The EBC result, below the critical 3 ppm threshold for nuclear-grade graphite, confirms the material’s suitability for high-value applications requiring ultra-pure graphite.

The combination of 5N+ purity and a high proportion of large and jumbo flake concentrate makes Lac Knife graphite rare in the natural graphite industry, offering potential opportunities in markets traditionally served by synthetic graphite. Analysis shows that residual impurities are mainly surface-bound rather than embedded within the carbon lattice, indicating that surface cleaning drives purification efficiency. These findings, supported by peer-reviewed research on ultrahigh-temperature purification, position Lac Knife graphite for advanced industrial, clean energy, and high-technology applications where both purity and flake size are critical.

Dean Hanisch, Chief Executive Officer of Focus commented, "These results validate Lac Knife as one of the rare unique natural graphite deposits capable of competing in high margin advanced technological markets and as a potential alternative to synthetic materials that are more expensive and have a larger environmental impact. With support from Canada's Federal Government, through Natural Resources Canada's Global Partnerships Initiative, we are now positioned to accelerate our scale-up work and unlock commercial pathways across nuclear energy, defense systems, graphene production, and next-generation electronics."

Shares of FMS are currently trading up 8.96% at $0.365, while U.S. listed shares (FCSMF) surge 15.76% at $0.2787 in late-morning trading.
