Gold exploration continues to regain investor attention as rising bullion prices and tightening global supply place a premium on high-grade discoveries in stable jurisdictions. In Canada, junior miners operating in historically productive but underexplored belts are drawing renewed interest, particularly when drill results demonstrate both grade and continuity near past-producing infrastructure. Against this backdrop, strong assay results can quickly translate into sharp moves in the share price.

Shares of Trident Resources Corp. (TSX-V: ROCK) (OTCQB: TRDTF) are moving higher Tuesday after the company reported a new round of positive diamond drill results from its 100% owned Contact Lake Gold Project in northern Saskatchewan. The results form part of Trident’s inaugural drill program at the project and highlight multiple high-grade gold intercepts across broad mineralized zones, prompting the company to prepare for a sizeable, fully funded winter drill campaign.

Trident is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on advancing gold and copper assets in Saskatchewan, including the Contact Lake and Greywacke Lake gold projects and the Knife Lake copper project. Contact Lake is a past-producing gold mine that generated approximately 190,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 6.16 g/t between 1994 and 1998, with historical operators noting that significant mineralization remained unmined when operations ceased during a low gold price environment.

In its latest update, Trident reported assay results from an additional ten drill holes from its autumn 2025 program, bringing the total reported holes to thirteen of the nineteen drilled. All reported holes intersected substantial gold mineralization within broad zones of shearing and alteration at relatively shallow depths, including areas outside the historical mine footprint. Notable highlights include hole CL25006, which returned 7.28 g/t gold over 15.0 metres, including 16.69 g/t over 6.0 metres, and hole CL25007, which intersected 4.43 g/t gold over a wide 39.5-metre interval.

Additional drilling delivered multiple high-grade hits, including 42.95 g/t gold over 2.55 metres in hole CL25005 and 7.41 g/t gold over 6.0 metres in hole CL25008. According to the company, mineralization has been confirmed within the Bakos Shear Zone as well as in both the hanging wall and footwall, supporting the interpretation of a persistent orogenic gold system with lateral and depth continuity.

Chief Executive Officer Jon Wiesblatt said the results continue to validate Contact Lake as a high-grade system with significant blue-sky upside, noting that every drill hole to date has intersected notable mineralization. With more than $12 million in cash and marketable securities, Trident is fully funded to commence an aggressive winter drill program aimed at expanding the known mineralized footprint and adding to its recently updated resource base.

In Tuesday morning trading, shares of ROCK were up 21.3% to C$2.68, while U.S.-listed shares of TRDTF gained 18.6% to $1.915.
