Wall Street Pricey? Try These 5 Dividend ETFs Under $50

Despite almost half-a-year-long U.S.-Iran tensions and higher energy prices, Wall Street has stayed steady this year. State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY is up 12.8% so far this year (as of Aug. 11, 2026). Over the past month, the fund has gained 2.9%.

The all-world excluding U.S. ETF iShares MSCI ACWI ex US ETF ACWX has jumped 13.2% in the year-to-date frame (as of Aug. 11, 2026). This fund has advanced 3.8% over the past month. So, neither geopolitical tensions nor rising rate concerns have overshadowed the stock rally this year.

After such a rally, pricing concerns are bound to crop up, especially for retail investors. High share prices can make individual stocks less accessible to even retail investors, prompting them to explore lower-priced stocks and ETFs that offer dividend income and diversified exposure without requiring a large upfront investment.

Time for Dividend Investing?

In a scenario where geopolitical risks are rife, inflation remains sticky, the U.S. labor market is cooling, and the Fed is in a tight spot over future rate policy, dividend ETFs can often come to the rescue.

The hunt for dividends in the equity market is always on, irrespective of how it is behaving. After all, who doesn’t like a steady stream of current income along with capital gains? And if investors are mired in a web of equity market uncertainty, global growth worries and geopolitical crises, the lure for dividend investing increases further.

Investors should note that not all dividend stocks serve the same purpose. While the high-yield ones are known for offering hefty current income, stocks with dividend growth point to quality investing — a prerequisite to making money in this volatile environment.

Why Invest in Low-Priced Dividend ETFs?

Low-priced securities are more affordable, as more shares can be purchased instead of a few higher-priced shares for the same amount. Low-priced ETFs may offer higher growth potential. For example, if a stock is priced at $20 and increases by $1, that's a 5% gain. This is in contrast to stocks priced at $100 or above, which see a 1% gain if shares move up by $1.

Against this backdrop, we highlight a few dividend-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that are available for under $50. A $50 price cutoff means these dividend ETFs are available at a roughly 45% discount to the cheapest S&P 500-based ETF, State Street SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF SPYM, which closed Aug. 11’s trading session at $90.69 per share.
