In island-arc precious metals exploration, clearing major logistical and licensing hurdles often triggers the initial market re-rating well before the first core box hits the logging table. Establishing permanent camp access, renewing key exploration licenses, and securing fully allocated strategic financing transition a project from preparation to active drill testing, providing investors with immediate execution visibility as crews mobilize.

Thunderstruck Resources Ltd. (TSX-Venture: AWE) advanced Thursday after announcing the an updated license renewal and a $1.8M private placement at $0.15. The company also announced it completed construction of the exploration camp and access road at its Liwa gold-silver project in Fiji. The drill contractor and the company's technical services team are now mobilizing to site.

The 2026 Liwa program is expected to include geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, and an initial diamond drill program; full scope and objectives will be announced once the exploration team is established at camp.

The licenses of SPL 1425 (Liwa epithermal gold-silver, Rama porphyry copper-gold, and Nakoro VMS) and SPL 1416 (Korokayiu VMS) have both been renewed. The timingwas designed to let Thunderstruck complete the Liwa campaign and then initiate a late-year program at Korokayiu.

Liwa carries four high-grade precious-metals targets across a 3km structural corridor; prior geochemical and geophysical work has returned anomalous soil, outcrop, float, and trench gold grades with coincident anomalies at depth. Korokayiu offers near-surface zinc-copper VMS potential within 100m of surface, confirmed by drilling and surface sampling, and remains open along strike and at depth.

The program comes funded. Thunderstruck arranged a non-brokered placement of 12.0M shares at $0.15 per share for gross proceeds of $1.8M (no warrants). The deal is split between two parties: Zhaojin International Gold (Hong Kong) Limited is exercising its contractual participation right under the May 20, 2026 investor-rights agreement, picking up 2,402,964 shares to maintain its 19.99% position. Asia Pacific Group PTE Ltd, or its affiliates, will acquire 9,618,003 shares, a purchase that takes APG to 18% of the company as a new cornerstone position. Proceeds are earmarked for Fiji exploration and working capital, subject to TSXV approval.

Next catalysts are TSXV clearance of the placement, full camp occupancy, and first Liwa drill results.

Shares of AWE are up 30.4% to $0.15.
