3 Driehaus Mutual Funds to Add to Your Research List

Driehaus Capital Management is an investment management firm. Founded by Richard H. Driehaus in 1982, it is based in Chicago and manages $29.4 billion in assets. The firm invests in growth-oriented equity and alternative investments within the United States as well as internationally in emerging markets around the globe. 

Driehaus considers environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in the investment research process. These factors include a company’s exposure to environmental risks, data security, labor practices, management quality, and corporate governance. 

We have picked three Driehaus mutual funds — Driehaus Global Fund DMAGX, Driehaus International Small Cap Growth Fund DRIOX and Driehaus Small/Mid Cap Growth DSMDX — which investors should buy now for the long term. These funds have a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #2 (Buy), positive three-year and five-year annualized returns, minimum initial `investments within $5000 and expense ratios considerably lower than the category average. So, these funds have provided a comparatively stronger performance and carry a lower fee. 

Driehaus Global Fund invests in global equity securities, including common stocks and sponsored or unsponsored ADRs, EDRs or GDRs, across developed and emerging markets, including the U.S. DMAGX adviser integrates top-down and bottom-up analysis and considers fundamental and technical factors when buying or selling. 

Richard Thies has been the lead manager of DMAGX since April 7, 2017. Most of the fund’s holdings were in companies, such as Alphabet Inc. (4.6%), NVIDIA Corp (4.1%) and Amazon.com, Inc. (2.1%) as of March 31, 2026.

DMAGX’s 3-year and 5-year annualized returns are 22.5% and 11.1%, respectively. Its net expense ratio is 0.75%. DMAGX has a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #1.

Driehaus International Small Cap Growth Fund invests most of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities of non-U.S. small capitalization companies, defined as companies located in the same countries and within the same market capitalization range at the time of investment as those included in the MSCI All Country World ex USA Small Cap Growth Index. 

David Mouser has been the lead manager of DRIOX since Sept. 17, 2007. Most of the fund’s holdings were in companies like Senior plc (2.3%), SigmaRoc plc (2.2%), and Smiths Group plc (2.1%) as of March 31, 2026.

DRIOX’s 3-year and 5-year annualized returns are 13.2% and 3.2%, respectively. Its net expense ratio is 1.12%. DRIOX has a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #1.

Driehaus Small/Mid Cap Growth fund invests most of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities of U.S. small- and mid-cap companies, generally those within the market-cap range of the Russell 2500 Growth Index. 

Jeffrey James has been the lead manager of DSMDX since May 1, 2020. Most of the fund’s holdings were in companies, such as Praxis Precision Medicines, Inc. (2.1%), Comfort Systems USA, Inc. (1.9%) and FTAI Aviation Ltd. (1.9%) as of March 31, 2026.

DSMDX’s 3-year and 5-year annualized returns are 15.1% and 5.6%, respectively. Its net expense ratio is 0.79%. DSMDX has a Zacks Mutual Fund Rank #1.
