Crypto Advocacy Group Endorses 32 House Candidates Ahead of U.S. Midterms

Stand With Crypto, a crypto advocacy group backed by Coinbase (NASDAQ: $COIN), has endorsed 32 incumbent members of Congress for the November midterm elections as the industry steps up its efforts to maintain support for digital asset legislation in Washington.

The latest endorsements include prominent congressional supporters of the industry, including Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, along with Democrats Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer. Some endorsed lawmakers, including Arizona Republican Juan Ciscomani and Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick, face competitive races, according to Reuters.

Coinbase launched Stand With Crypto in 2023 as a grassroots campaign to organize voters around digital asset policy. It says it now has more than 3 million registered U.S. advocates.

Mason Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, told Reuters that the group's campaign has changed since the 2024 election.

"In 2024 we were very much proving that the crypto voter is real," Lynaugh said. "In 2026 we're very much showing that we have the organizing capacity and that our advocates are a true voting bloc that can move the needle."

Stand With Crypto plans to announce its Senate endorsements closer to Election Day.

The endorsements come as the Clarity Act, a major priority for the crypto industry, faces delays in the Senate. The bill passed the House last year with support from all 32 lawmakers endorsed by Stand With Crypto. The group is seeking to help return those lawmakers to Congress as the industry pushes for clearer rules governing digital assets.

Notably, the crypto industry's political spending has grown sharply. The sector spent about $170 million backing congressional candidates during the 2024 elections, helping secure support for legislation including the GENIUS Act, which established a federal framework for dollar-backed stablecoins.

The industry has already directed nearly $200 million toward the 2026 midterms, much of it through Fairshake, a major crypto-focused political action committee.
