In natural hydrogen exploration, intersecting elevated gas concentrations at significantly shallower depths drastically improves target economics and well-design parameters. Identifying clean, methane-free hydrogen within mapped fault-breccia corridors confirms active subsurface migration pathways, providing strong physical evidence of a continuous system prior to formal resource estimation.

Quebec Innovative Materials Corp. (CSE: QIMC) (OTCQB: QIMCF) moved higher Tuesday after reporting preliminary mud-gas results from diamond drill hole DDH-26-05 at its Bennett Hill project in Nova Scotia. The hole delivered a company-record reading of 27.8% hydrogen at a depth of 374m, roughly 333m shallower than the company's previous record intercept of 24.3% at 707m in hole DDH-26-04.

Below 300m, sampling outlined two high-concentration zones, returning values up to 23.7% between 348m and 354m, followed by readings building from 19.1% to 27.8% between 368m and 374m. Crucially, methane levels remained at 0.0% and carbon dioxide measured at or below 0.1% across reported intervals. The high readings coincide with a permeable fault-breccia shear package entered at 327m. While results remain preliminary pending laboratory verification, the data confirms shallow system continuity.

Next catalysts include laboratory verification of DDH-26-05 gas samples, remaining drilling results across the target area, and details regarding a planned pilot-scale characterization program in Nova Scotia's Advocate Area.

Shares of QIMC and QIMCF are up 11.5% to C$0.68 and 10.8% to US$0.49.
