Gold at Record Highs, This Junior Miner Adds Fuel With Impressive Drill Results

With gold prices holding near record highs, investors remain eager for positive developments in the sector. Today, one junior miner is seeing its stock climb on the back of strong drill results.

As mentioned, shares of Miata Metals Corp. (CSE: MMET) (OTCQB: MMETF) are on the move higher as the company reported strong near-surface gold mineralization from its first drilling at the Puma Target on the Sela Creek Gold Project in Guyana. Results include 18 meters averaging 2.58 g/t Au starting at 5.6 meters, highlighted by 7.5 meters at 5.64 g/t Au and 1.5 meters at 20.88 g/t Au. The mineralization occurs entirely within saprolite, a weathered rock type well-suited for low-cost processing, and comes from the central portion of Puma, which spans roughly 2.7 kilometers and hosts extensive artisanal workings. This intercept represents the best drill result to date at Sela Creek, reinforcing the project’s district-scale potential, with follow-up trenching and drilling now underway to test the extent and continuity of the zone.

“This early result at Puma is the strongest result we’ve seen to date at Sela Creek and is a clear signal that high-grade gold mineralization occurs over significant widths on the Project,” stated Jaap Verbaas, CEO of Miata Metals. “Intersecting 18 metres at 2.58 g/t gold near surface confirms Puma as a highly prospective target with the right geological setting for a large orogenic gold system. Just as important, this gives us a roadmap for follow-up drilling along the 2.7 km trend and across our broader pipeline of targets. We believe this is only the beginning of unlocking the district-scale opportunity at Sela Creek.”

Shares of MMET are currently up 6.82% at $0.235 while U.S. listed shares are unchanged in mid-morning trading.
