Stem cell therapies are gradually becoming a viable medical option for a range of health conditions. Today, a micro-cap biotech company made a significant announcement in this area, sending its shares soaring on the news.

Shares of Hemostemix Inc. (TSX-Venture: HEM) (OTCQB: HMTXF) are on the move higher as the clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in autologous stem cell therapies for cardiovascular diseases, announced this morning that Florida Senate Bill 1768 became law on July 1, 2025. This new legislation allows patients and their physicians in Florida to access non-FDA-approved autologous stem cell treatments with informed consent, clearing the way for Hemostemix to legally offer its ACP-01 (VesCell) therapy in the state. The company plans to begin commercial treatments by Q4 2025.

Hemostemix projects $22.5 million in sales for 2026 and aims to exceed this target through strategies like selling forward its therapy convertible debentures, offering payment plans, and providing financial assistance to disadvantaged patients. Under the new law, licensed Florida physicians may administer ACP-01 (VesCell) for ischemia-related pain in conditions such as Peripheral Arterial Disease, Chronic Limb Threatening Ischemia, angina, congestive heart failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, and peripheral neuropathy linked to total body ischemia.

"With 498 patients treated to-date and published results demonstrating safety, improvement in cardiac function, mobility, and pain reduction, ACP-01 is positioned to be the #1 therapy for patients with no other treatment options," stated CCO of Hemostemix, Croom Lawrence.

Shares of HEM were lasted trading at $0.15, up 15.38% while U.S. listed shares (HMTXF) rallied 18.99% to $0.1084 in mid-afternoon trading.
