Rio Grande Resources Ltd. (CSE: RGR) advanced after reporting May 2026 assay results from Phase Two surface sampling and structural mapping at the 100%-owned Winston gold-silver project in New Mexico. At Poverty Creek, channel samples returned up to 46.3 g/t Au and 1,030 g/t Ag, as the Company integrated the 2025 and 2026 field seasons, and locked in several Phase 1 drill pad locations ahead of Winston's first drill program in decades.

The headline channel interval came from Channel D: 46.3 g/t Au and 1,030 g/t Ag over a systematic cut, with Channel D2 at 15.7 g/t Au and 703 g/t Ag and Channel C at 5.93 g/t Au and 190 g/t Ag. For context, grab samples reached 67.1 g/t Au and rock chips returned 26.1 g/t Au and 348 g/t Ag, with silver to 759 g/t.

Chief Executive Officer Jason Barnard said tracing multiple vein systems across Poverty Creek, not just isolated high grades, was the key outcome of the seven-day May program. Rio Grande is still finalizing remaining drill locations as geological interpretation continues elsewhere on Winston, but several pads are now set for Phase 1. The next catalyst is straightforward: Rig mobilization and the first holes into corridors that have not been drill-tested in decades.

Shares of RGR are up 4.6% to $0.23 today.
