Copper has become one of the most closely watched commodities in the global resource market as electrification, grid expansion, data centers, and rising power demand collide with the years it takes to bring a new mine into production. With high-quality undeveloped deposits growing more valuable, exploration companies are looking not only to advance the projects they hold, but to lock up prospective ground around them before somebody else does.

Shares of Kutcho Copper Corp. (TSX-V: KC) (OTCQX: KCCFF) are moving higher Friday after the company announced an agreement to acquire two mineral claims located near its flagship Kutcho Project in British Columbia. The claims cover approximately 68 hectares.

Under an agreement dated August 25 with two arm's-length prospectors, Kutcho will acquire the claims by issuing 150,000 common shares at a deemed price of C$0.35, the market price immediately before the announcement. That places implied consideration at roughly C$52,500 and lets the company add ground without using cash from its treasury.

The shares carry a statutory hold period of four months and one day from issuance. Both the purchase agreement and the share issuance remain subject to approval by the TSX Venture Exchange.

Separately, Kutcho announced an updated service agreement with Resource Stock Digest of Round Rock, Texas, continuing a relationship first established in March 2025 and providing continuity when the earlier agreement expires in September. Under the new arrangement, RSD will provide promotional services in accordance with TSX Venture Exchange Policy 3.4, which governs investor relations, promotional and market-making activities.

RSD has been engaged for an advertising and marketing program running up to 18 months, at a cash fee of US$10,000 every three months paid in arrears. The firm conducts interviews with the company and produces its own content for distribution to its subscriber base. Kutcho disclosed that RSD is owned and operated by Gerardo Del Real and Nick Hodge, both shareholders of the company as of the date of the agreement, and said RSD and both men are at arm's length to Kutcho with no relationship outside the agreement. That agreement is also subject to TSXV approval.

Shares of KC are up 4.4% to C$0.355 in Friday morning trading, while KCCFF is ahead 5.1% to $0.2551.
