Environmental Micro Cap Gains on News of Major Prototype Reveal

Shares of SunHydrogen, Inc. (OTCQB: HYSR) are leaping on news that the company will unveil its largest renewable hydrogen reactor prototype to date—a 1.92m² (approximately 21 sq. ft.) module—at the upcoming Hydrogen Technology Expo in Houston, Texas, on June 25–26, 2025. The new prototype, roughly the size of a standard solar PV panel, signifies a major milestone in the company’s efforts to produce low-cost, decentralized renewable hydrogen using only sunlight and water. 

This innovation eliminates the need for traditional electrolyzers and grid-powered electricity, moving SunHydrogen closer to real-world deployment. The prototype builds upon the company’s earlier success with a 1m² panel demonstrated in January.

At the expo, SunHydrogen will also provide a live demonstration of hydrogen production using a smaller 100 cm² working prototype powered by a simulated light source. This demonstration is designed for a safe, indoor environment and will allow attendees to observe the hydrogen production process in real time. 

The technology’s simplicity and sustainability—requiring only light and water—underscore its potential to disrupt conventional hydrogen production methods that rely on natural gas and high energy consumption.

Shares of HYSR are up 7.02% at $0.0244 in late-morning trading.
